Using TodayHint means accepting the terms below. They're short, and mostly about what the hints are worth and what you can do with them. If anything here conflicts with the plain-language explanation on our About page, these terms govern.
What the site is
TodayHint is a hint and answer reference for three New York Times puzzles — Strands, Connections, and Pips. It publishes daily puzzle hints on a spoiler-controlled ladder, full answers, evergreen how-to-play guides, and an archive of past puzzles. It is provided free, without an account, and without a paywall.
Personal, non-commercial use
The hints, answers, guides, and commentary published on this site are for your own personal use — reading them to help you solve a puzzle, or to check your work afterward. You may not republish, scrape, or redistribute this site's written content (hint text, strategy tips, recaps, or guide copy) at scale or for commercial purposes without permission. Linking to TodayHint, quoting a short excerpt with attribution, or referencing a specific day's puzzle result in your own writing is fine; wholesale copying of our hint text onto another site is not.
Accuracy and warranty
Hints and answers on this site are written by TodayHint from publicly available puzzle data, ladder-tested against a spoiler check before publishing, and corrected when we're notified of an error — but they are provided as-is, without any warranty that a given hint, answer, or difficulty label is accurate, complete, or current. Puzzle data occasionally changes or arrives late from its source, and on rare occasions the site falls back to hints generated directly from a puzzle's structure rather than written prose; those are labeled where they occur. TodayHint is not liable for any inconvenience, frustration, or other loss arising from relying on a hint that turns out to be wrong.
Trademarks and affiliation
TodayHint is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The New York Times Company. Strands, Connections, Pips, and NYT are trademarks of The New York Times Company, used on this site only to identify which official puzzles our hints refer to. The puzzles themselves — their design, categories, words, and solutions — are the New York Times' own work; TodayHint's contribution is the original hint text, commentary, and guides written around that publicly available data, described in full on our About page.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from use of this site is subject to that jurisdiction. Nothing here limits rights you have under laws that can't be waived by agreement.
