Recap

This puzzle featured a mix of common and uncommon words, with a strong focus on verb forms and political terminology. The pangram 'VETOING' was a key to unlocking several other answers, including 'VETO', 'VOTE', and 'VOTING'. Solvers who recognized the centrality of 'VETOING' were able to generate many other words from the available letters.

Six rungs, counts before words. The recap above already named the pangram, so this ladder is here for anyone replaying the board fresh rather than as a spoiler shield.

  1. Hint 1: What kind of words the board rewarded

    No answer is named.

Word pairs with 've' and 'vi' are productive, as are phrases ending in '-ing' or '-ion'. Look for verbs, nouns related to politics and everyday life, and consider words that can be formed by adding prefixes or suffixes.
