Spelling Bee July 29, 2026: Pangram & Answers

edited by Sam Ezersky.

Recap

This puzzle featured a strong showing of nautical terms like OUTBOARD and BOAT, as well as words related to places and structures, such as TABARD and ARBOR. The presence of BUBBA and BOOBOO added a playful touch. Solvers could get stuck on the longer words, but the shorter ones provided a good starting point.

The seven letters

B ADORTU

Every answer had to use B. The board accepted 48 words in all.

Spelling Bee hints, rung by rung

Six rungs, counts before words. The recap above already named the pangram, so this ladder is here for anyone replaying the board fresh rather than as a spoiler shield.

  1. Hint 1: What kind of words the board rewarded

Word pairs sharing double letters or common suffixes are well-represented. Hunting for words with consecutive letters or common prefixes also pays off. The centre letter is essential to every answer.
